This blog site has been created so that all those who are interested in building their own helicopter, will have a place to exchange thoughts. The site is mainly aimed at exchanging information about the Skyrider helicopter.
This project was created to share information with people who are interested in building a helicopter, but have been frustrated with what is currently available. I spent most of my life outside the USA, where certain components are not as readily available or as cheap as here. This helicopter was designed to overcome part of the problem. All you need to get started, is to get hold of a BMW motorcycle, for many of the components. Check the website for more information. Over the next two weeks, a lot of information will be added.
hey like your concept would like to see more regarding the three blade main rotor. Also I live in canada where I'll have to get a licence regardless and I'll not gain anything aside from performance by being under 254lbs. I've heard figures for the bmw 1200 up around 240hp with the addition of a turbo! hopfully your drivetrain will be upgradable to accept higher hp engines
Looks good I've often wondered why builders are not using tried and true gearbox's off proven vehicles, I'll be watching to see your prototype...Bravo wish you well...
